Self-Study Online Certification Program
We have created the ADAPT Model self-study certification program in response to the requests we have consistently received from trainers/coaches/consultants for a certification program they can take in order to coach and offer ADAPT Model training as part of their portfolio of offerings. The self-study certification program has been created to allow individuals to complete the certification program following their own timeline and is broken up into thirteen individual certificates that once achieved result in a Master ADAPT Model certification. Now that we have released the self-study certification program, we will be working to release follow up ADAPT Model trainer material and a detailed ADAPT Model implementation road map to help guide coaches/trainers/consultants.
Details of ADAPT Model Self-Study Certification Program
The ADAPT Model Self-Study Certification Program follows the teachings of the ADAPT Model common body of knowledge (CBOK) and supplemental readings available to all individuals in the ADAPT Library on the ADAPT Model web site. In order to access the ADAPT Library an individual must signup for the ADAPT Community (free to sign up and access the materials). The certification program follows the common body of knowledge teachings, but we do encourage individuals to read the supplemental readings which provide deeper context of many of the subjects covered in the common body of knowledge. The certification program is broken into thirteen separate sections (called variables in the ADAPT Model) which have their own requirements. The certification program requires individuals to pass the requirements for each section, which will result in a certificate for that section. Once an individual has achieved a certificate for each of the thirteen sections, they will then automatically be awarded an ADAPT Model Master Certification. Individuals who gain the ADAPT Model Master Certification will then be eligible to offer ADAPT Model coaching or training. Individuals who achieve a Master Certification will also be granted access to the ADAPT Model trainer materials and ADAPT Model implementation roadmap (free access).
Breakdown of ADAPT Model Certification Program:
- ADAPT Start – Change Keystones section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Read Book – Change Intelligence: Use the Power of CQ to Lead Change That Sticks. Also show your individual Change Intelligence CQ assessment. Online assessment is free to individuals who buy the book from Change Catalysts.
- Organizational Transition section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Organizational Structure/Evaluation and Leadership Responsibility section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Individuals must take the free online Servant Leadership 101 course from Modern Servant Leader and show the certificate upon completion. Individuals may substitute a comparable Servant Leader certificate in place of the Servant Leadership 101 course certificate.
- Organizational Change section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Culture Change section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Transformation Strategic Planning, Bench marking, Measurement and Audit Change section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Employee Organizational Transition section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Growing Grass Roots section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Agile section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Learning Organization section requirements:
- A minimum score of 65% on the section exam
- Business Agility section requirements:

How to gain certification for the self-study program
Individuals who wish to complete the ADAPT Model Self-Study Certification Program first need to register as a member of the ADAPT Model community where they will be given a login to access the ADAPT Library. You can join here. Once an individual has become a community member and has studied the section materials to point where they are ready to take the section exam, they can signup below and request the exam. An email link will be sent to them that will take them to the exam site, the link email will explain all of the details for the section exam. Once an individual has passed the exam for a section and if there are additional materials required for that section the administrator will contact the individual to request a copy in order to complete the certification for the section.
